The multiple Grammy-winning legend and superstar Elton John offered help for One Direction's Harry Styles, as reported by The Daily Star on Sunday.
Known for helping a lot of artists like Sam Smith, Tom Odell, James Blake, Ed Sheeran and a whole lot more, the icon who has over fifty years of experience in the industry, said that he is willing to give Harry Styles advice to take on former band mate Zayn Malik in the pop charts.
In an exclusive backstage interview with James Ingham of The Daily Star during his sell out gig at the Olympia Hall, John, who has always been known for lending fellow artists a helping hand and passing on his musical wisdom, stated that he has talked to a few of the One Direction members. He also noted how Zayn has done unbelievably well with his fresh track, even if out of the One Direction boys, he was the one that he 'doesn't really know'. "I've seen Harry a few times who is great and I'm always on hand to offer him advice," John said.
Sharing his love for mentoring the next generation of artists especially musicians, John said that he had taken artists out for lunch and assured them that he's always handy if ever they need his advice. He also stressed how Sheeran always takes his pieces of advice, two of which are a part of how big he has become in the business.
"I don't manage him on a day-to-day basis but I've given him two great bits of advice which was to go on tour with Taylor Swift and to release 'Sing' as his first single. He wasn't sure about both but I told him if he wanted instant exposure to go with it," John said. He also added how he thinks Sheeran would still be around when he reaches his age because he thinks he is a brilliant song writer and performer.
Being one of the biggest selling artist in the history and shifting over 300 million records, it is no question why Elton John's mentoring techniques and advices have helped a lot since day 1.
