Ashley Graham made headlines when she graced the covers of Sports Illustrated during the SwimsuitsforAll ad campaign last year. Now, she graces the pages of the 2016 Issue in sports swimsuit again as a model.
Sports Illustrated enlisted model Ashley Graham to lead the cover of its annual Swimsuit Issue.
Showing something different and embracing change, Sports Illustrated highlighted plus-size model Graham for the second year in a row. In 2015, she was featured in the SwimsuitsforAll campaign and this time, Sports Illustrated have made her dreams come true.
The model is not only famous for her gig at the New York Fashion Week but her passion for her figure. She has appeared on various publications like on the cover of Elle magazine, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Latina and Glamour. She's been interviewed by several famous talk show hosts like Jay Leno about plus-size modeling.
Last year, she made a point to advertise with SwimsuitsforAll, an online retailer that carries the tagline "You've Got It. Flaunt It". Being passionate about her figure and her cause, she has never waivered.
She went to Instagram to celebrate the big news that was revealed by Sports Illustrated, even before the magazine was published.
She posted a picture, using her social media handle @theashleygraham of her posing on the shore and captioned it with excitement. "It's official - I'm a @si_swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year. Stay tuned for voting instructions", wrote Graham. She also included the hashtags #beautybeyondsize and #siswim on her post.
This is good news for women of all shapes and sizes because multiple publications are starting to embrace the different kinds and definition of beauty especially in women in today's world.
