George Clooney and wife Amal Alamuddin are determined to effect positive changes in this world. According to new reports, the A-list couple has recently taken the challenge of alleviating the refugee crisis in Europe.
Both the actor and the barister met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently to discuss how they can provide help to people affected by the civil war in the Middle East.
"The Academy Award winner and wife Amal were in Berlin to promote his new film when they met with Merkel for 30 minutes, during which they discussed the crisis and onslaught of people coming into Europe," International Business Times reported. "The three were joined by David Miliband, the former British foreign secretary and current head of the International Rescue Committee."
This was definitely a noble act from George and wife Amal. The couple proved that there are far more important things in the world that needs immediate attention than the nasty rumors constantly thrown at them.
It was previously speculated that the newlyweds are having marriage troubles and could possibly divorce sooner than expected. Other rumors claimed that Amal disliked George's friends, not to mention that she reportedly has an ongoing feud with actress Angelina Jolie.
"Amal's never had time for silly showbiz insecurities and there's absolutely no valid reason for Angelina to have so much animosity towards her," a source told OK! Magazine.
"She wrote her a very sweet letter. Assuring her that she has no beef with her."
"They have so much in common," the insider continued. "It's madness that they're not BFFs and Amal's determined to fix that."
"Amal got Angelina's information and reached out to her twice, but she never received a response," a source told OK! Magazine, as reported by Classicalite. "Amal was actually quite shocked by Angie's rudeness and lack of consideration."
"It's not a very well-kept secret that Angie finds Amal annoying. She respects the works Amal does, but it's all she ever talks about -- it gets boring."
