Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan has smashed the season 2 premiere of "Lip Sync Battle." But the "Magic Mike" actor hasn't given up his dancing shoes as he gets coached by Jenna Dewan on tap dancing in preparation for his new movie, "Hail, Caesar!"
Tatum has shown the world his moves, from the film "Step-Up" where he met Jenna, to "Magic Mike's" famous strip and lap dancing. Now, Tatum is required to dance again in his latest film and his loving wife has been kind enough to help him out on a dance he has never tried.
Unlike most dances, tap dancing is a precise method. Especially in a film like "Hail, Caesar!" where one wrong step means a total reshoot for everyone involved. He had to master years of training in just a span of a few months in order to prepare a 6 minute tap dancing scene.Dewan gladly helped him, investing several hours a day. Thankfully, his wife had years of tap-dancing experience.
"We would do about two to three hours everyday and then I would go home and have Jenna help me," explained Tatum. Tatum further added that it's not just dancing, but the fact that the dancer is actually playing an instrument that is part of the song.
But that's not the only thing he's doing for the film. Apparently the actor sings in "Caesar." This may be a different ball game from the "Lip Sync Battle" he had with his wife last month. He poked fun at himself saying that he doesn't have a good voice and that his daughter cries whenever he sings.
Well, it's too late to back out now since "Hail, Caesar!" is already out in theaters.
