Statistics show that only about 48 percent of employees are satisfied with their jobs. This is almost half of the working population, a high percentage that has a significant impact on production and efficiency.
You don't want to work in an unsatisfactory working condition, do you? So, if you don't want that, you need these tips on how you can avoid being dissatisfied with your job.
But first, you need to understand the type of job dissatisfaction you are feeling right now. There is the type that is called 'Intrinsic Job Dissatisfaction' which is when you loathe the type of job you are doing and the task involved in doing that job.
And then there is the 'Extrinsic Job Dissatisfaction' where you are not satisfied with your working condition, your pay, your supervisor, or your co-employees.
Understanding the type of your job dissatisfaction will enable you to attack the problem in a targeted manner.
Intrinsic Job Dissatisfaction
If you are intrinsically dissatisfied, the first thing you need to examine is yourself. Understand what makes you tick, and what types of job you might be happy with. If you are caught in a job where you are dissatisfied intrinsically, start looking for work that is more in accordance with your likes, talents and wishes. Don't think it's difficult to find one, for if you persist, doors will open for you.
This type is a bit harder to resolve because it involves other people. Perhaps if you are bold enough, you can set up a one-on-one with the person you are not happy working with. Inform him about your problem and hopefully, he will see your viewpoint and make personal adjustments. If he is not approachable, and is very antagonistic towards you, ask the help of your supervisor. Pray that your supervisor is objective, for if he's not, you have no other recourse than to find another place to work where everything will be more to your liking.
