Eva Green and Judi Dench were featured in the exclusive feature by Empire for "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" movie. It is based on Ransom Riggs' 2011 novel of the same name.
Tim Burton will be directing the film. He has described the character of Eva Green ("Dark Shadows") as a "weird Mary Poppins like character-a strong and mysterious person who looks like she could turn into a bird. That's Eva."
The publication noted that "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" movie is led by powerful women such as Dame Judi Dench. She will portray Miss Avocet.
"In the peculiar world, women are the protectors," Burton said.
"Miss Avocet is the head of another peculiar school. But, much like the bird in her name, she's a bit more of a nervous, flighty energy than Miss Peregrine."
The cast includes child actors Asa Butterfield and Ella Purnell. Chris O'Dowd, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Terence Stamp and Samuel L. Jackson join Green and Dench in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" movie.
"I was a little worried about working with so many kids again," the director admitted, "but they were all such professionals on set. You would never believe that it was some of these kids' first big film."
"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" movie is slated for release on Sep. 30 in the US and Oct. 7 in the UK.
According to EW, the film will focus on 16-year-old Jake (Asa Butterfield) as he is plagued by nightmares after a family tragedy. He goes on a journey to find the orphanage where his grandfather supposedly once lived, not knowing how it will introduce him to an alternate realm.
"It was nice to shoot on location, to be connected to a place and geography while having people actually floating, as opposed to doing it all digitally," Tim Burton said about the production.
