Melissa McCarthy took some time to get together with Yanic Truesdale, who plays Michel in the "Gilmore Girls" TV show. "Together again", as reported by US Magazine. The actor posted on Instagram a selfie with Melissa McCarthy. "Scotch, great meal and catching up with my old friend @melissamccarthy, can't ask for more!" he captioned.
The two co-stars were enjoying dinner and drinks over the weekend. Fans hoped that the social media post may just be a tease for McCarthy to rejoin the "Gilmore Girls" ensemble in Netflix, but the post did have a post-script on it. The Instagram post ended with "Don't read anything ito it guys." It was a quick high-and-low point of crushed hopes for "Gilmore Girls" fans. So, Sookie from the Dragonfly Inn won't be making an appearance in the Netflix reboot. But that didn't stop Melissa McCarthy from flaunting her new figure on social media.
The funny gal has been eating healthy these past few months and JobsNHire previously reported that she had been on a diet of vegetables and cardio. Her movie career and business has practically kept her busy but that selfie post showed the world that she's doing a good job physically even under enormous pressure.
When she Tweeted online that she didn't get an invite to come back to "Stars Hollow," she just wished them all the best.
However, "Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino insisted to TVLine that she tried to reach out to McCarthy but was turned down. She was willing to offer a scene or a cameo to McCarthy even if it was a last minute deal.
Though "Gilmore Girls" ended in 2007, Melissa McCarthy went on to create milestones in her life including her clothing brand "Seven7" and making healthy choices that led to her weight loss. And she has no plans of stopping especially after starring in "Ghostbusters" and "The Boss." Check out the official 2016 trailer of "The Boss" starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Bell.
