Following its short break last week, "Scandal" season 5 is back on television this Thursday night with its episode 13 titled, "The Fish Rots from the head." And fans will be definitely thrilled as the upcoming episode promises an Olivia and Fitz reunion.
Last week, ABC decided to push back the premiere of "Scandal" season 5 episode 13 for the debut of the network's new thriller drama series, "The Family." And since the episode has been delayed, fans are now eager to watch the epic confrontation between ex-lovers Olivia Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant.
As Olivia and Fitz come face to face for the first time after their breakup, here are 5 things you need to know about "Scandal" season 5 episode 13.
1. Olivia vs. Fitz
Ever since the midseason premiere, avid "Scandal" Season 5 followers have been waiting for a "show-stopping" faceoff between Olivia and Fitz. And in the upcoming episode, the ex-couple will finally reunite for an intense confrontation, Melty noted.
The confrontation came after Olivia slammed Fitz for hooking up with random women. She even called her former lover as "reckless" when she learned that he had slept with a journalist.
2. Olivia vs. Jake
Huck once called Olivia's attention for sleeping with the enemy - Jake. But now, he has convinced her that her dad Rowan and Jake might up for an evil plan.
That's why, Olivia assigned Huck and Quinn to spy on Jake. Unfortunately, the table was suddenly turned when Liv found Jake in her bedroom in the middle of the night,
3. Olivia's White House comeback
Following her breakup with the president, Olivia finally returns to the White House to do some damage control in "Scandal" season 5 episode 13. According to Ecumenical News, the Secret Service will be enlisting the help of Liv and her team to cover up a woman's death.
4. Olivia's unresolved abortion issues
Even though Olivia Pope is back on track, she still has unresolved issues about the abortion. Inquisitr even revealed that it may be the reason why she has changed so much in the current season.
"[Olivia] has changed," the series' costume designer Lyn Paolo told Vulture. "She is approaching her life from a different point of view. She's a little bit more dangerous. She's challenging the system a bit more, and now she's in it for her. She's not doing this for other people, she's doing it for Olivia."

"Some Secret Service agents get into trouble and seek help from Olivia's team," the episode's synopsis read, as per TV Guide. "Meanwhile, Abby struggles to keep Fitz in line; and Jake starts to divulge a few of his secrets."
