The "Injustice 2" release date may be happening this year. It is said to be available by April.
President of NetherRealm Studios and game director of "Injustice" Ed Boon has teased the possible "Injustice 2" release date. The game is the much-awaited sequel to 2013's "Injustice: Gods Among Us."
After stating that the "Mortal Kombat X" release date last Apr. 2015 has kept him busy, Boon took to Twitter to reply to the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS). He was unable to attend their event last year.
iDigitalTimes reported that Ed Boon teased another title for 2016. There were speculations that the NetherRealm boss was talking about the "Injustice 2" release date.
"@Official_AIAS @noobde :( Hope you can make it next year! EB: Absolutely! ......unless we ship a game in April 2016 ;)" Ed Boon tweeted.
Although there are plenty of characters in the game's universe, there is still no confirmation whether the game is being developed or when the official "Injustice 2" release date is.
Meanwhile, Den of Geek noted that Boon teased fans about "Injustice 2" in January of last year. "Should CAPTAIN COLD be in 'Injustice 2?'" he tweeted.
Captain Cold, one of Silver-Age Flash's enemies, is a supervillain in the "Injustice" universe. He is the leader of the Rogues, a group consisting of the Flash's enemies who banded together.
Some its members are villains such as Mirror Master, The Pied Piper, Weather Wizard and The Trickster.
"Injustice: Gods Among Us" is the 2013 3D fighting video game by NetherRealm Studios. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment published the first game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Playable characters in the original game included Batman, Catwoman, Flash, Joker, Raven, Scorpion, Superman and Wonder Woman. Its gameplay is rendered in one-on-one matches in 2D.
The game had a special feature called the "character trait" button which activates a character's unique skill or attack.
