Adobe announced today the launch of Adobe XD also formerly known as Project Comet, the company's new user experience design and a tool for prototyping solution in creating mobile apps and websites.
In October, Adobe first made its demonstration of Project Comet at the Adobe MAX conference, which the tool is targeted for users to create simplified prototypes and increase the development based on a task to continuously grow an amount of mobile apps and websites.
With an acquired Adobe ID, anyone can freely download Adobe Experience Design XD, where Adobe officials claimed the first commercial launch is to be expected later this year for Adobe Creative Cloud members.
The release of the first preview is now available for Mac OS, following a Windows version approaching later this year.
Director of product management for UX Design at Adobe Andrew Shorten stated in a blog post, that anyone who is interested in using Adobe XD can download it for free from Adobe.com or in the Creative Cloud desktop app during the preview period. And as part of its pre-release program, Shorten explained that Adobe gained input for more over than 5,000 designers, and that the company is aiming to gather more feedback from the release to the public, hoping that it will further deliver a solution for users experience design while in partner with the UX design community.
Shorten said, "We've seen how designers think beyond just the visual design of a Website or app, but also on optimizing and improving the overall user experience," also adding, "Adobe XD makes it easy to undertake wire framing, visual design, interaction design, prototyping, previewing and sharing, by bringing together the tools you need for experience design into a single solution. We're starting by delivering a basic set of tools in each of those areas, with the feedback we receive helping to determine the ultimate set of features that you need, while continuing to ensure we don't compromise on delivering amazing performance and a comfortable design experience."
