Ever since she left "The Vampire Diaries" after season 6, rumors on Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder getting back together on-screen have been rampant. Fans are still waiting for the actress' return to the hit CW drama.
Recently, there are speculations that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will be joining "TVD" spin-off show, "The Originals." Moreover, their co-star Paul Wesley, who portrays Stefan Salvatore in "The Vampire Diaries," may join them as well.
"Nina Dobrev might be wearing her vampire teeth again," a source told MNR Daily. "The actress along with Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are coming to 'The Originals,' recent rumors say."
According to CDL, "The Vampire Diaries" may soon be canceled due to Nina Dobrev's exit. Season 7 is the first season of the series without the actress and it has already experienced major loss in viewership. Furthermore, the show's schedule has been moved from Thursdays to Fridays, which is said to be incompatible with "TVD's" demographic.
It was noted that the hit CW series has a much younger audience than the shows that thrive on the Friday night schedule such as "Amazing Race," "Hawaii 5-0" and "Blue Bloods." The move may have aggravated things for "The Vampire Diaries."
"The Vampire Diaries" has recently been renewed for another season. The CW made the announcement last week.
EW reported that the network has confirmed renewals for "The Flash," "Arrow," "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Jane the Virgin," "iZombie," "Reign," "Supernatural" and "The 100." "TVD" season 8 and "The Originals" season 4 has also been given the green light by The CW.
The renewal was surprising since, as mentioned above, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 has not been doing so well in terms of ratings. Hopefully, season 8 would be better for the series.
Nina Dobrev took to her Instagram to announce to her followers that she will no longer be in "TVD." The actress shared that she was leaving the show because she wanted to pursue other opportunities.
