‘Hunter X Hunter’ Manga Continuation Confirmed For 2016, Coming This April!

The "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation has been confirmed for 2016. It will reportedly be published this April.

Kotaku reported that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation will finally commence this 2016. Creator Yoshihiro Togashi is also set to finally return.

Shonen Jump's teaser site has also tagged the manga as "serialization resuming" and "Finally, movement commences!" The teaser mentioned the Dark Continent arc.

According to HNGN, more details on the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation for 2016 will be announced in the 16th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The issue will be published on Saturday, Mar. 19.

The news marked the end of the manga's hiatus. This will definitely come as a relief to fans who have been frustrated with "Hunter x Hunter's" frequent breaks.

Series creator Yoshihiro Togashi took a break when he suffered from serious back pain in Aug. 2014. The publication noted that the hiatus, which was only supposed to be for two weeks, has been extended until this year.

Anime News Network reported that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation for 2016 is slated for Apr. 18. It was also confirmed that the series will resume with the Dark Continent arc.

In a report by YHM last year, the BookOff and other Japanese bookstores have sold the 32 volumes of the "Hunter x Hunter" manga series as a complete set for around 7,000 yen, or about $60. Japanese fans reacted with resignation while others protested the label.

The "Hunter x Hunter" manga series resumed last Jun. 2014 after going on a hiatus of two years, from Mar. 2012 to May 2014. It was put on hold for a while in Jul. 2014. This was prior to the August announcement from Togashi. Its most recent manga volume was published in Dec. 2012.

"Hunter x Hunter" was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since Mar. 1998. As of Dec. 2012, there have been 340 chapters collected into 32 volumes by Shueisha.
