Comcast has quietly launched its TV, internet and phone service through Amazon, marking the cable giant's dedication to selling Xfinity products and bundles.
In addition to Amazon.com, the website introduced the Amazon Cable Store which offers Amazon customers its Comcast's Xfinity bundles and customer service.
The partnership came to place when both Brian Roberts, Comcast Chief Executive and Neil Smit president of the cable division encountered with Jeff Bezos Chief Executive of Amazon in a trip they took when visiting Silicon Valley, where they figured out a way to join forces by selling Comcast products through the retailer. With the year's passing, both firms came upon an agreement that would make the process simpler, which includes selling TV, internet and phone service.
Amazon introduced Comcast an easy way for a customer to lessen the clicks in completing a transaction, where Smit said, "They helped us in our thinking about how to simplify the experience and just make it clean. We're partnering with a company that's so good at the customer experience, I think that's really what excites me."
Every time a customer subscribes to Comcast through the Amazon website, Amazon takes a portion fee of each subscription made to what is typically called a referral fee, where goods that are sold by third parties through Amazon can reach from single-digit percentages to 15% or above.
Somewhere along that line as Smit puts it, where Comcast could be selling another product that includes home security service with the help of Amazon also. According to a report from TVPredictions, stating that Amazon sales channel will allow customers to make easy purchase of a TV set including an offer of Comcast's video service.
For long cable companies have been shipping their products both through personal sales channels and others with approved retailers. Comcast wishes to improve its partnership with Amazon in its brand perception as it attempts to reinvent its customer service.
