Nike Air Max 2016 Introduces New Trainers; Stephen Curry Signs With Under Armour

The Nike Air Max 2016 convention just finished. The company celebrated by introducing new trainers for the line.

NY Daily News reported that the three-day Nike Air Max 2016 convention continued last Friday and Saturday in New York. This is one of the three simultaneous gatherings around the world.

Fans of the athletic brand in Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York will get to see their favorite shoes being displayed until Sunday. There will also be other art installations, workshops, on-site customization as well as a chance to vote for a classic style to come back.

According to GQ, the company has released a fresh set of trainers to celebrate Nike Air Max 2016. Tinker Hatfield, who was chosen to design a new spin on trainers three decades ago, has been enlisted once more to create new models.

"Everything I do is colored by my experiences," Hatfield said. "When I draw, it's a culmination of things that I've seen and done to that point."

"When I was designing this shoe, I pulled inspiration from the United States and France. Each country has had considerable influence on my career, so that's where you get the reds, whites and the blues."

DJs and Nike athletes are also set to make their appearances in the Nike Air Max 2016 convention. Just don't expect Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry in the mix.

Nike has lost Stephen Curry to Under Armour with a $4 million deal, The Guardian reported. There were speculations that the GSW player dropped his contract with the company because they wouldn't allow him to put his favorite Bible verse (Philippians 4:13) on his signature basketball shoes.

Jacksonville.com debunked the rumors and stated that there are no sources to back up the claims. Curry's fallout with Nike seems to have stemmed when the brand did not invest in him before he rose to become a star. "So Curry didn't pass on Nike - it was Nike that passed on Curry," the website wrote.
