Naughty Dog has finally decided to release "Uncharted 4" on May 10. As the launch date approaches, new reports are now claiming that a multiplayer feature will also be included, but will be available through a separate download,
As Game Pur revealed, the game might be split into two parts, with the single-player coming in disc form first. "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be a huge game and we might already know this, but it seems it will be 'huge' also in terms of size," the report stated.
Known industry insider Shinobi602 was the first to dish on the rumor. He recently posted on his Twitter account saying, "I'm hearing Uncharted 4's MP porting won't be on the disc but as a separate download. That be a huge game right there!"
"Uncharted 4" has come a long way since it was first revealed. The game suffered several setbacks and multiple release date delays. After the long wait for its release, "Uncharted 4" hopefuls were let down when Naughty Dog previously announced that the highly anticipated launch of the fourth installment will be delayed. Instead of its original Apr. 24 launch, the game will now be available by May 10.
"The unthinkable has happened. PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait even longer to get their hands on Uncharted 4: A Thief's End; it's been delayed even further," Pocket Lint reported. "Thankfully though, Sony claims it is only a two week extension. The last two announced delays put the game back months each time. It was originally coming out in the latter part of 2015, then 18 March, then 26 April."
Naughty Dog explained that they needed to push back the release because developers needed "extra manufacturing time" to ensure that they can deliver what they have promised to eager fans. Directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Stanley added that the game "deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for," the publication noted.
