To help you get to your interviewer's head, The Business Insider compiled a list of science-backed techniques that will make you more hireable during your job interviews:
1. The best time to schedule your interview is on a Tuesday at around 10.30 a.m. Glassdoor says that you have to pick a schedule that's best for your interviewer - not you. If the hiring manager offers the opportunity for you to be able to pick a time for the interview, 10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday is when your interviewer is likely and relatively relaxed.
2. Make sure you don't get interviewed on the same day as the strongest candidates. If you have any knowledge of who is going to be interviewed and when, see to it that you come in after comparatively unqualified candidates.
3. Match the color of your interview outfit to the image you want to show. A survey shows that professionals found that different color on one's clothing represent and convey certain impressions. Grey is associated with being logical and analytical, white being organized, brown being dependable, red for power and green, yellow, orange or purple with creativity.
4. Hold your palms open. Your hand movements contribute to the impression that you convey during a job interview, according to John B. Molidor, PH.D. and Barbara Parus, authors of "Crazy Good Interviewing".
5. Find something that you may have in common with your interviewer. If your interviewer gives a hint that he or she values some things as you do, make sure to acknowledge that in a way that you can both engage.
6. Without sounding like you're self-promoting, compliment the interviewer and the organization. Showing enthusiasm for working for them without sounding desperate is a good thing.
7. Show confidence while showcasing deference simultaneously. You can compliment your interviewer's work, while associating it with your own.
