Shortly after the Oklahoma EF-5 twister tore a path in Moore, the Oklahoma City Thunder player pledged support to the Red Cross to help victims of the tragedy.
Though Kevin Durant's 5 for 21 in the Western Conference semifinals ended his Oklahoma City Thunder season, his public image was once again back on the spotlight when he responded by inking his back with a massive, intricate tattoo of a portrait of Jesus next to a Bible verse in James (chapter 1 verse 2-4). An angel is carrying a basketball, and two hands crossed behind "hugging" Jesus and signing the numbers 3 and 5 (he wears 35 on his jersey).
The Instagram photo came with the caption "All done...James 1:2-4...look it up". The verse was initially misspelled, but the NBA star corrected the error writing, "I got mature spelled the right way lol."
The Bible verse spoke of endurance and patience during difficult trials and temptations, that Christians should rejoice in the perfection that is to come.
Durant's slender figure must have to "endure" a lot of unpleasantness to get the verse to sink into his flesh. Is it the three-time NBA scoring champ's way of confessing, "I will do better"?
