Yara Abbas, a major female war reporter for the public Al-Ikhbariyah TV, dedicated her life for journalism Monday as she was martyred for covering the battles near the Syria-Lebanon border.
Lebanon's Hezbollah party members and government forces have been attacking the Dabaa air base near Qusair. Several other journalists covering both sides of the Syria conflict have also been killed since March 2011.
It is often very difficult for foreign people to come to know what is happening inside the nation of Syria, because al-Assad has made it a death penalty for foreign journalists to come into the war-torn nation.
It was reported that snipper terrorists had targeted the state TV crew near the al-Dabaa airport north of the city near Lebanon. It was mentioned that the incident happened near a major government and rebel supply route.
While diplomats are trying to provide safe passage for the people trapped inside the city, at least 35 civilians were killed in Syria, including two women and two children.
The Syrian National Council had been having meetings through out the weekend in Istanbul to consider attending the Geneva conference.
Since the conflict began March 2011, more than 70,000 people have lost their lives in the conflict, according to the United Nations.
