LinkedIn has come up with an application that would match graduates with possible employers. It is dubbed as the "tinder for graduates." It is called the "LinkedIn Students" and is available on bot iOS and Android.
The application provides career advice for graduates based on their school, year of graduation, and major. It also features different job and even internship possibilities based on the graduate's achievements and qualifications. It's like having an online resume readily available for employers to see.
"Today, LinkedIn unveils the first-of-its-kind LinkedIn Students app available for iOS and Android, tailored specifically for soon-to-be college graduates looking to answer these very questions," said Ada Yu, a product manager at Linked, in a recent blog post. "Using insights from LinkedIn's database of over 400 million professionals, the brand new app helps you discover jobs that are a best fit for graduates with your major, companies that tend to hire from your school and the careers paths of recent alumni with similar degrees."
The app, according to LinkedIn, aims to provide and inform students of the countless possibilities and opportunities laid out for them but are unaware of.
Other features of the app include letting users browse profiles of recent alumni with the same major as you to help you with concerns and even ask for career tips and advices, theNextWeb reports.
The application is also simple to use. Students need to verify their accounts via their existing LinkedIn account or by entering details such as name, school, major and graduation date in the new app.
And just as you would see tailored romantic matches in Tinder, LinkedIn Students will show users related recommendations for jobs and internships.
Once done, you will see cards, just like in Tinder, where you can swipe left and right for "No" and "Yes", respectively. Most of the results are based on your major. However, if you plan on looking for opportunities outside your field, the app is also able to show you areas where you can fit in based on your experiences.
