Singer Beyoncé Knowles once again tried her luck in business through her latest fashion line Ivy Park, which was released last week. The fashion line is made possible through the singer's collaboration with Topshop.
However, instead of the warm welcome, some of those who were filled with excitement were met with disappointment upon finding out her activewear clothing do not have plus sizes for women.
The clothing is only being sold in sizes from XXS to XL, which is equal to Topshop's size range of UK 6 - 16, the Huffington Post reports.
Other fans and customers, however, said that the design and wearability is great. They said the clothes are breathable and fashionable, they can wear it out to lunch or to the airport as it is somewhere between a sleek workout gear and casual clothing.
This is not Beyonce's first time to try her luck in the business industry. According to Chicago Tribune, Beyonce tried to enter the business world in 2004 with her fashion label House of Dereon. Unfortunately, the "House of Deréon's styles never won over the masses, and its juniors line, founded by Beyonce and her sister Solange, folded in 2012."
Will Beyonce be successful in her business feat this time? It is too early to tell. Beyonce needs to work hard to make this new fashion label work if she doesn't want to be added to the list of dead or dying celebrity brands.
Other celebrities whose fashion labels failed include that of Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Heidi Montag, Sarah Jessica Parker, Linsey Lohan, Jennifer Lopez, and Amanda Bynes. On the other hand, among the successful celebrity fashion labels include that of Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Sean John 'P.Diddy' Combs, Jay-Z, Jessica Simpson, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen.
