A former post from The New York Times revealed, "Visa said on Tuesday that it would begin providing software to reduce the time people spend using new chip cards, which have small metallic squares on the front and the changes address one of the widespread complaints about the cards, that they take too long to process."
With the software upgrade, the cards would be processed faster and hassle free. Visa has formerly claimed that the new software would grant customers the ability to dip and remove their cards from payment terminals in a period of less than seconds. At the same time, customers can also dip their cards before a cashier is done in totalling the bought items.
"We've definitely been talking to merchants about how we can speed things up. The upgrade will apply only to Visa cards for now," said Stephanie Ericksen, the vice president for risk products at Visa. The new security chips contain different data from the information on a magnetic stripe and they are intended to make it harder for thieves to create counterfeit cards and the new technology, known as E.M.V., stands for Europay, MasterCard and Visa, according to the same report.
It is undeniable that companies must innovate to promote better consumer dealings and trades and offers more comfort and ease for consumers and users. Visa is not treading this path because other companies are implementing changes and improvement on their platforms as well such as Paypal, reports Jobs & Hire.
As Visa improves its chip cards with the aid of its new software upgrade, consumers can finally save time, effort and not be stuck in line owing to the slow processing on the payment stalls.
