As prostitution has been legalized in Brazil, its health ministry has created an online campaign, with the motto: "I am happy being a prostitute."
Sex tourism is a growing industry in Brazil. With Brazil hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, it is believed that the number of prostitutes are likely to increase.
CNN reported that Brazillian prostitutes in Belo Horizonte are flocking to English classes to gain an advantage during the events.
The campaign apparently aims to educate about the sexual workers and reduce the disgrace against them. Additionally, it is aiming to promote safe sex.
One poster in another campaign held the slogan, "I cannot be seen without a condom, my love."
Health Minister Alexandre Padilha removed the campaign, "The role of the ministry is to have specific content to encourage prevention among sex workers, who are a very vulnerable group."
The Brazilian government has also distributed free condoms in hopes of reduction of AIDS in the country.
BBC claims in their report, "With widespread poverty in the country, many boys and girls enter prostitution at a very young age.
