It has been affirmed that EU has formally laid claims to Google's actions but it did not pressure Apple. Although notions why Apple is not being bombarded by complaints, The European Commission EU has been led to believe that Google is violating the European Union antitrust laws and owing to that, a legal claim was filed against Google.
According to The Verge, "The EU believes that Google holds a dominant position in three related markets, and that it is using that position to distort competition and the EU claims that Google limits access to key aspects of the Android ecosystem by insisting that phone makers install Google search and Chrome apps."
At the same time, the EU also said that Google blocks phone makers from producing phones that run alternative versions of Android and that EU also believes that Google has illegally paid device makers and mobile phone companies to preinstall Google search exclusively, as noted by the same post.
However, although there are issues rising why EU is not setting its sights on Apple, there are no indications that both sectors are on the same directives. It stands to reason that Apple's dominance is largely connected with its sole products and not because EU did the regulating of its media players but for Google, EU believes that Google is limiting Android competition and another EU allegation is that Google demands the firms sign an "anti-fragmentation agreements."
On a different note, although EU is not cornering Apple, the tech firm behind the iPad and iPhone series has had its shares of internal attacks such as the issue with the San Bernardino Shooter incident and against FBI, reports Jobs & Hire.
It remains uncertain on how Google would address the persisting cornering and attack of EU to its operations and how the legal claims against Google would end.
