Amazon has recently added its Prime Now Restaurant Delivery service farther up West, as far as the California coast. This came after the online marketing company expanded its operations in San Diego, CA.
A company press release listed the participating food chains in the one-hour (or less) home delivery service which include DOSA, Nick's Crispy Tacos, Big Chef Tom's Belly Burgers, Pressed Juicery, The Monk's Kettle and Buca di Beppo. The total number of participants in this program is 117, across 33 zip codes along the Golden Gate City area.
"San Francisco is known for incredible restaurants, and now, Prime members across the city can enjoy their favorite local restaurants at home or at the office," said Gus Lopez, Amazon Restaurants general manager, in the press release.
"With Prime Now Restaurant Delivery, customers can expect to pay the same price for their favorite dishes, whether they visit the restaurant or order the same items for delivery. Prime Now has no hidden fees or menu markups, and delivery is free for a limited time," Lopez added.
This one-hour or less delivery service can only be availed by Amazon Prime members and within selected markets. Customers' orders will be shipped from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. all days of the week. Within two hours, customers should expect their orders delivered at their doors, at no extra cost. If they want their orders delivered within the hour, they have to shell out an additional $7.99.
In Tampa Bay, thousands of items are offered for this program which includes grocery and perishable items. Orders will be delivered to customers depending on the ZIP code of their shipping address. However, not all ZIP codes seem to be eligible.
In other markets such as Los Angeles and Chicago, Prime members can get take out from a local food chain, and have them delivered to their doors.
