A Chinese blogger recently posted a picture of "hairy" stockings with the caption, "Super sexy, anti-pervert full-leg-of-hair-stockings, essential for all young girls going out."
It has not been confirmed whether or not the stockings are made of actual human hair, or if they are available for purchase, but the picture has since gone viral and prompted a debate over whether or not this bizarre creation can indeed keep the perverts away.
The idea for the stockings originated from China. Someone must have introduced it as a means of protecting its female population from unwanted male attention. They have drawn comparisons to the less humorous, more functional anti-rape lingerie recently developed by three engineering students in India. That article of clothing delivers an electric shock to sexual attackers and sends an alert message that gives the GPS coordinates to the attacked woman's friends and family.
The stockings are meant to be visibly repulsive in order to deflect aggressive and unwelcomed men.
So, what do you think? Has China gone overboard, or would these things actually work to ward off "pervy" men?
