Brad has long denied rumors that he cheated on ex-wife Jennifer Aniston while they were still married, but a recent lawsuit has revealed that the actor checked into a hotel with Angela Jolie, posing as a married couple, way before his divorce with Aniston.
Jolie's stunt double, Eunice Huthart, is suing Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation for allegedly tapping her phone between 2004 and 2005. She claims that through hacking her phone, the mass media corporation was able to find out that Pitt and Jolie were checking into hotels together, posing as a married couple, while promoting their film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" worldwide. According to Huthart, only she and Pitt and Jolie's bodyguards and personal assistants knew about the relationship. The court papers allege that Huthart missed a number of deleted messages; among the messages that Huthart never received were about "hotel arrangements where she [Jolie] was staying, code names for hotels and individuals, dinner reservations, and meet-up times."
The lawsuit reads: "On April 1, 2005, while Plaintiff [Huthart] was in Los Angeles, a story appeared in The Sun entitled 'Brad's 4M Pad Is Jolie Nice.' Upon information and belief, no one except Brad Pitt's bodyguard, Ms. Jolie's bodyguard, their respective personal assistants and Plaintiff knew that Brad Pitt and Ms. Jolie were now an 'item.' Yet at the end of The Sun, it is stated: 'Yesterday The Sun exclusively revealed [Brad] and Angelina checked into a hotel posing as a married couple during a weekend trip to plug their new movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith.'"
Pitt and Aniston separated in January 2005, but the divorce was not finalized until October of that year. They were married for four and a half years. Before the divorce, Pitt met Jolie on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," and rumors ran rampant that the start of their relationship had caused the demise of his marriage to Aniston.
Huthart says she and Jolie shared a tight bond, describing her and the actress as "close" friends who "often travelled and socialized" together" and even lived together for a period of time. She also claims that she once arranged for a friend to teach Jolie how to ride a motorcycle on his farm in England because Jolie had "wanted to learn how to take motorbike trips with Brad Pitt." Shortly after the lessons, The Sun ran an article titled "Off Road Biking is Jolie Fun," detailing how "Brad Pitt's lover has been learning on a nippy 750 cc MV Augusta Brutale." The story also claimed a source had commented, "She's a natural."
If the allegations are true, that would mean that Pitt and Jolie indeed started an affair while Pitt was still married, despite years of denying such rumors.
