Starbucks regulars in New Haven, Connecticut has appointed their local Starbucks the responsibility of naming their next born child.
The soon to be born baby boy has been confirmed to be named "Logan Jackson Dixon" though other write-in name suggestions included "Obama, Jebediah, Lincoln, Webster", etc.
The couple, Jennifer James and Mark Dixon, were unable to settle on the baby name, and decided to begin a survey with a Starbucks to-go cup covered with little blue hands and feet. The sign below the cup calls out, "Help us choose our son's name, Jackson or Logan," claims the New Haven Register.
Of the 1800 votes that they received, Logan won 400+ votes more than Jackson.
The couple has collected the 1800 ballots and placed them in a scrapbook, so that their son will be able to remember what has gone into the making of his name. It will also include coverage stories from various newspapers.
The couple had been dating since 2010, and came across the idea for the process when they saw the Starbucks employee of the month contests. The customers would cast votes to elect the best employee.
According to Jennifer James, the couple has placed the birth of their child as first priority even above their marriage to each other. "I can't wait, she's going to be a really great mother," Mark Dixon exclaimed.
