Two people had died in the San Francisco shooting that happened during a armed robbery in a jewelry market. Three more are wounded from the incident.
The San Francisco shooting happened on Friday when a man who had previously been in the store took two guns and a knife into the store and tried to rob the store in broad daylight.
"Somebody was crying or yelling for help. Then I saw the SWAT. There was a dozen of them. They told us to lock ourselves in. I saw blood on the way out and a pair of bodies," said witnesses who ducked for cover while the shooting happened.
The multistory building in the Californian city's South of Market district had prompted local tech firms including Pinterest and Eventbrite into lockdown. The police however could not engage the suspect while he was shooting at them, as the suspect was surrounded by many innocent citizens.
From the video footage of a store next to the robbery, there was apparently only one suspect who injured three people. A man who sustained a life-threatening wound has been taken to a hospital according to the police.
One of the women sustained wounds from an "edged weapon", while the other was shot to death at the lobby. No officers were hit by the coming torrent of bullets. The suspect later surrendered when he was no longer able to fire at the police. The shooting had began at approximately 2pm.
The 800 block of Brannan Street was closed since then and had not been opened friday night. Initially officers expected a second suspect, leading to the delay.
Here is a Google Glass footage filmed the day after the event while police have not yet released the stores back to the public.
