It's official - Brangelina is over.
In the divorce documents that Angeline Jolie filed on Tuesday, the actress cited irreconcilable differences and seeks for full physical custody of their six children. She also seeks to keep her jewelry and all her properties and assets earned after their date of separation on Sept. 15, just over two years after their marriage.
Brad Pitt broke his silence about the issue through his statement to CNN, where he asked the press to give Jolie and their children "the space they deserve during this challenging time." Jolie's lawyer Robert Offer even mentioned that the actress also asks for privacy and will not be giving any comments during this difficult time. The lawyer also added that the actress filed the divorce for the "health of the family."
It was previously reported that the couple was heading to splitsville and people wondered how the celebrity couple would split their fortune and kids.
According to a November 2015 article of Hollywood Life, the couple might possibly be on the way to a $400 million dollar divorce due to "explosive fights" and allegations that Pitt was cheating on Jolie. The same publication also accuses that the former was getting tired of his wife's dark side and bad habits triggered by the latter's health conditions.
Furthermore, according to Page Six, Jolie found out that Pitt was too caught-up in the movie's atmosphere of hard drugs and Russian hookers thru the eye of her hired private investigator. Reports also hinted a possibility of Pitt's affair with "Five Seconds of Silence" co-star, Marion Cotillard, 40, as Jolie was said to find the closeness of the two stars worrisome.
Meanwhile, TMZ posted that the break-up is due to Pitt's substance abuse of weed and possibly alcohol, which may have led to the actor's bad parenting. Another theory why the couple called it quits is because of their constant busyness as Pitt was busy with his movies while Jolie was busy with her charity works.
It can be remembered that on November 2015, Pitt and Jolie opened up with Today about their relationship while they were promoting their movie "By The Sea." The latter wrote and directed the movie, which is about a troubled husband and wife, but denied that the plot is any close to their real-life relationship.
Pitt and Jolie have six kids in total and Jolie is seeking for full physical custody of all the children. She did not file for shared physical custody but solely asks for shared legal custody. She also asked the court to grant Pitt visitation rights for the children.
The couple have been together for a decade before they got married in August 2014. Pitt met Jolie on the film set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" where the former at the time was married to actress Jennifer Aniston. The couple have been inseperable since then.
The world reacted in shock with the #BrangelinaBreakUp especially that the two just celebrated their second year anniversary last month.
