The third sequel of Jackman's Wolverine movie hit, has also been confirmed on Twitter by 20th Fox Century making it official.
This will be his third solo Wolverine movie, following 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2013's The Wolverine, and his 10th on X-Men franchise.
Earlier last year, Jackman has purposely said during the announcement to his upcoming film that it would be the ninth and final time he would play the hero. He then shared a photo on Instagram, with the claws, and captioned it: "One last time."
The upcoming movie is said to have been inspired the comic book series of Mark Millar's Old Logan. The story will run on Wolverine's future. Patrick Stewart is returning as Charles Xavier, with Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez also in the cast although specific roles has not yet been revealed.
The Wrap reported, 'Logan' will be darker on this new Wolverine sequel:
"Old Man Logan is in full effect. Logan looks bad, and drinks a lot. For work, he drives a 2024 Chrysler 300 limo that looks modified in the front to look more futuristic. He's sick, his powers are fading, and he heals much more slowly - and sometimes not at all."
X-men producer Simon Kinberg promised that this will be the last but the most matured Wolverine film of Hugh Jackman before retiring from his superhero roles. Kinberg said that the film will "take place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It's violent, it's kind of like a western in its tone. It's just a very cool, different film." in his interview with Collider earlier this year.
'Logan' is set for release on March 3, 2017.
