The Great Khali: From Wrestler to Entrepreneur

Former WWE heavy weight champion Dalip Singh Rana, well known in the wrestling world as the Great Khali tries his hand at the franchising business. He has recently opened a fitness center and hopes to expand operations across India.

Wrestling is popular in India and Rana wants to cash in on his popularity to open more fitness centers by offering franchises to interested investors. Rana aims to make the Great Khali Gym & Fitness Club a by-word in the fitness business.

Rana last fought in 2014 and was thought to have retired from the wrestling profession. In February 2016, however, the Great Kahli came to fight again in the wrestling ring and rekindled his reputation as a great wrestler by beating three foreign wrestlers, Apollo Leon, Mike Knox and Brody Steel.

The Great Khali, who was also a security guard and a police officer before he turned wrestler, also tried his hand at the entertainment world, appearing in a movie, "The Longest Yard" in 2005. He also starred in the movie "Get Smart" and in two Bollywood films to boost his acting career.

Rana was active in promoting wrestling as the Great Khali and have a wide experience in promotions, which he can use in marketing his newfound enterprise. He was actively involved in SmackDown and Wrestlemania, events that were considered as wrestling entertainment as its best.

The Great Khali Gym & Fitness Club franchise offered by Rana to investors includes the use of the club name, the fitness program personally designed by the Great Khali, and the complete design and layout of the fitness center. It will not be exclusive for professional wrestlers but will include amateurs, men and women who want to stay fit.

The required investment for a complete franchise of the Khali Gym & Fitness Club amounts to INR30 Lakhs, equivalent to roughly $40, 000.
