During Apple's Sept. 27 event, the company announced the release of the brand new iPhone 7, and Apple Watch. Fans of the brand were quick to point out that there was not even mention of the coveted MacBook Pro.
The company had been known to be really secretive about their product launches and as always, had stayed mum about any information regarding the MacBook range. That changed, however, when a loose-lipped case manufacturer twitted the supposed release date of the new MacBooks.
People who saw the tweet assumed that the MacBook will hit the shelves come October 27 which is also consistent with the recent rumors of an October product launch. This leaked release date caused the sales of Apple laptops to plummet down as people are more eager to buy the newer models.
Speculations about its feature have surfaced for months now and one of the most consistent rumor is the OLED touch bar that will replace the function keys on the upper part of the keyboard. It was also rumored that Apple will release a 13-inch and 15-inch variant but it is not clear yet if the 3.5mm headphone jack was removed.
The new MacBook Pro will also have a Touch ID power button which will be a first for the product line. It is highly speculated that Apple is not using Nvidia graphics this time but rather, they will use AMD's Polaris GPU. It is also expected to have a thinner aluminum shell and will ditch the MagSafe 2 charging port for a standard USB connectivity.
What about the Macbook Air?
Rumor has it that Apple will stop making the 11-inch MacBook Air because of the new iPad Pro both of which have the same market. Apple is rumored to retain its MacBook Pro and MacBook line. However, removing the MacBook Air line meant taking away their entry level MacOS device.
Realizing this, people are now speculating that Apple might also announce a new 13-inch MacBook Air this October.
People are surely excited for the new MacBooks. The main concern now is if the new MacBook Pro and the rest of its line will live up to its hype. Interested buyers will have to be a little bit more patient and hope for an even earlier release.
