LaMarcus Aldridge hasn't been his usual dominating self ever since the Spurs acquired him and sources say that this is because he is not happy with the team.
A report by CBS Sports is saying that there is some substance in the story that LaMarcus Aldridge may be regretting his decision to sign with the Spurs. And that could result with the team trying to look for a big trade this season before it gets any worse.
The reason is still unclear, though many speculations have run rampant on the Internet of this surprising turnaround.
One of the purported reason is that Aldridge feels like the Spurs duped him by promising that the offense will revolve around him. But it is quite obvious that the team is running their offense through their star forward, Kawhi Leonard, throughout their whole season.
The flames are further fanned by recent comments made by Jackie MacMullan from ESPN. When asked if he wanted Aldridge to go to the Celtics, he responded by saying:
"No. Not after what I heard the other day I don't. Of course, you would take him on if you could because he's an automatic double-double. But there's just some things about him. There is some stuff going on maybe."
If history is any indication, LaMarcus Aldridge might be facing a similar situation during his last days in Portland. LaMarcus seemingly frustrated with the rise of Damian Lillard and bolting to the San Antonio.
This could spell trouble for Spurs fans as the organization is known for its strict discipline and no-nonsense attitude towards player causing a rift in team harmony. This is could end up in a situation where the team trades him before he loses some value over poor play. The Spurs should look to get some major value from Aldridge.
Expect the LaMarcus Aldridge soap opera to play throughout the next season for the Spurs.
