Tom Hanks is indeed one formidable actor and his roles in a lot of box office movies for the past years definitely proves that. In his third Dan Brown Movie adaptation , "Inferno", he is yet to show more of his veteran acting skills. The movie is expected to ignite $25 million in its debut when it opens on 3563 locations.
Sony, the movie's distributor, is looking forward in generating around $20 million- $25 million when the movie hits the theaters, reported by Variety. The launching would just be a fraction of its first adaption "The Da Vinci Code" which gained $77.1 million ten years ago and its just behind "Angels & Demons" which gained $46.2 million back in 2009. The catch is that both these movies launched in blockbuster peak seasons so there is a big possibility that this third film would surpass the previous ones.
There have been lots of criticisms about this third movie but director Ron Howard is eyeing that this third one would be a huge hit, according to Deadline. Hanks is continuously boosting the film's popularity which also increases ticket sales both in Japan and China. He had been guesting in some shows lately and he's appeared on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stepehen Colbert.
This would be Hanks' third time in portraying the role of Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbology professor. Along with Dr. Sienna Brooks(Felicity Jones), Langdon must put pieces together utilizing Dante's "The Divine Comedy" as a tool to prevent a mad man from releasing a deadly virus which could cause a massive pandemic.
Hanks did a lot of movie projects in the previous months and years like "Captain Phillips" and "Bridge of Spies" but never really made it to the top charts. The big question now is if Hanks could still pull it off and bring back the "Forrest Gump" era where he was famously known for.
