Andrew Garfield appeared as a guest on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to promote his latest movie 'Hacksaw Ridge' with director Mel Gibson, but he did more than that. To the audience's delight, he reprised his role of 'Spiderman' and even shared a few of Gibson's Halloween hanky-panky.
As per Cosmic Book News, Garfield dons the costume and takes a selfie with a seemingly unsuspecting fan in Los Angeles. The bystander pays him for the photo as he takes off his mask, gesturing with glee. Check out the video here.
When asked by Kimmel how he spent his Halloween last year, Garfield mentioned he was in Australia with Gibson and co-star Vince Vaughn at the time, on break from shooting the movie. Vaughn had a funny idea and bought masks for the three of them so they could step out and walk around anonymously, as per ET Online.
Gibson was in a league of his own with the mask fiasco as Garfield recalls he was wearing what he described to look like a "'Mission: Impossible' mask." He told Kimmel the mask was so realistic that it was flushed to Gibson's face and he could talk right through it. He even comically likened it to a "lumberjack from Oregon."
He continued his story, saying Gibson would prank people in the bar by showing up in a mask, sitting beside them and then taking it off as they unsuspectingly turn their back, so when they turn around, they see his face. People would then be shocked to see him.
Garfield mentioned he would even "prank his friends with it." He remembered when Gibson tried to startle a friend and was punched out of shock. He was laying down on the floor laughing while taking off his mask with blood on his face.
'Hacksaw Ridge' is a film based on the true story of Desmond T. Doss, a US army medic who saved over 75 of his comrades during World War II. The movie is set to hit the theaters on Nov. 4.
