Turkey Latest News And Updates: More Than 1000 Civil Servants Fired; Media Shut Down

The ultimate goal of the government is to make sure that their stakeholders and constituents are all protected from any possible danger, and so the government of Turkey decided to dismiss civil servants as they have been observed to have indirect and direct connections with the terrorists.

Exactly 10,131 Turkey civil servants (academicians, teachers, health workers, prison guards and forensic experts) were fired and dismissed from service after they have been alleged to have ties with the United States Cleric Fethullah Gulen, who is exiled after being identified to have organized the coup attempt in July this year.

Aside from the dismissed civil servants, there are around 37,000 who were arrested and now under the investigation after helping the plans of Gullen on coup materialize.

The action, dismissal of the Turkey civil servants, made by the government was a wrong move to a majority, further resulted in a composition of an opposition group. The opposition believes that this mass firing is a coup itself.

"What the government and Erdogan are doing right now is a direct coup against the rule of law and democracy," said Sezgin Tanrikulu of the Republican People's Party.

As a response, the groups of policemen fired the protesters who were questioning the recent action made by the government, including the media shut down that has the population of Turkey experience for weeks.
The Turkey Government, headed by President Tayyip Erdogan, decided to extend the current state of emergency which started after the coup attempt last July 2016, for they have not yet finished with ending the business of Gulen in a legal manner.

To end up any other possible attempts to destroy the government of Turkey more than just firing Turkey civil servants, President Tayyip Erdogan thinks that it is time to reinstate the punishment of death penalty as soon as possible. The debate on the reinstatement is still ongoing for this is still a question between national security and human rights.
