It has only been five seasons and the TV entertainment word is constantly chitchatting about "Designated Survivor", a television series that has captured the attention of movie watchers.
The future looks good for the TV series as each episode is generating more fans into an army of keen "political analysts." Some are even referring to Kiefer Sutherland as the president of the United States.
That is not even a surprise since the plot of the movie series is about a US low key official named Tom Kirkman (portrayed by Sutherland), low became the U.S. president after the whole political leadership of the country was wiped out by a terrorist attack.
In the series, Kirkman, a cabinet member holding the Housing and Urban Development portfolio was catapulted into the US presidency because he was the designated survivor, the person chosen to succeed the presidency should all the legal successors be terminated or unable to take over. The episodes revolve around how the bewildered man is able to manage the presidency despite his obvious lack of experience.
In episode 6 which is set to be aired November 9 on NBC, shots are heard at a Governor's Event hosted by President Kirkman at the White House to begin the process of electing a new Congress, delaying further the needed process. Meanwhile, Agent Hanna Wells (played Ashley Zukerman) who is tasked to investigate the Capitol Attack discovers another shocking revelation which adds to the thrill of the story in the series
The attack in the capitol was timed during the State of the Nation address where all government officials were gathered in one place. The horror of the incident and the tumultuous events that follow depicted in the movie have brought the best in actor Kiefer Sutherland as he plays the inexperienced president in the series
Movie watchers are all watching how the plot will play out in the next episodes as they cheer for their underdog "Designated Survivor" president.
