With 'Red Dead Redemption 2' being officially announced, fans all over the globe are clamoring for news related to the triumphant game. If anything, it also got analysts thinking how big of a success this is going to be.
In an article in VG 24/7, Macquarie Securities analyst Ben Schachter predicted it could sell over 12 million units. Immediately after the game's announcement, social media has been on an uphill rage as netizens spread the news of a possible prequel/ sequel to the first game. This just illustrates "significant pent-up demand and interest" for 'Red Dead Redemption to have a successor, Schachter explains.
With the launch being cryptically quoted as "Fall 2017," avid fans start to scour the internet for any relevant news on what to expect from it.
Gotta Be Mobile reported that the game is confirmed for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The developers of the game have begun to shy away from the predecessor consoles of the ones mentioned.
Information on whether the game will also be available for PC gamers is non-confirmatory. Thus the idea is still up in the air. It is important to note, though, that 'GTA V,' one of the games made by Rockstar, initially was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 then made its way to the PC gaming arena. The same can be speculated for 'Red Dead Redemption 2,' Gotta Be Mobile adds.
The latest buzz for the Nintendo Switch also got fans wondering if the game will likely be available to the hybrid handheld/ home console. There may be a slim chance, according to Gaming Bolt, after an interview with Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. Pachter thought that Nintendo "wandered too far away" from the mainstream. Thus the possibility of getting 'Red Dead Redemption 2' on the hybrid is very unlikely, though nothing is set in stone yet.
