The much awaited release of the third "Mortal Kombat X" DLC installment will be put on hold in the midst of the eager anticipation of fans to catch the official issue date announcement.
As of the moment, the decision to delay fits with NetherRealm Studos' pending "Injustice 2" - the second episode of the well-received DC Comics videogame. Parent Herald reports that 'Injustice 2' is expected to hit retail stores in June of 2017.
A much similar testimony is revealed by The Christian Times, especially regarding the general disappointment of "Mortal Kombat X; aficionados. In fact, they have been waiting for the new installment since September of 2016.
Many of the fans were heavily invested on the assumption that the third "Mortal Kombat X" DLC will be unveiled in October of 2016, particularly at the annual EVO sporting event.
Notwithstanding the unintentional letdown for followers of the third "Mortal Kombat X" DLC, the decision of to prioritize "Injustice 2" was derived from the poll conducted by videogame programmer/director Edward Boon. Injustice 2 received the highest votes in May of 2016.
The 'Mortal Kombat' franchise was first developed by Midway Games. It has been around in the videogame industry since 1992. "Mortal Kombat X" is the tenth of its extensive and enduring series.
In fact, it was at the peak of its success in the mid and late 90's, competing with other celebrated arcade vintages like "Street Fighter." In 2009, Midway Games filed bankruptcy and Warner Bros. bought the rights for future productions.
Interestingly, a significant portion of the "Mortal Kombat X" fan base has also entertained the possibility of a PC version. This theoretical decision would allow one of the oldest arcade games to stand up against other popular PC videogame series such as "Left 4 Dead 3" and "Hitman 6." Fans will have to stand by for the newest development soon.
