Beloved TV star and advocate Sally Struthers is ordered to appear in court for charges of "operating under the influence" on September 23 in York County Superior Court in Alfred, Maine.
This marks one year since the actress' arrest after being pulled over by an officer in Route 1 of Ongoqui, a southern resort town in Maine. The investigation resulted in a DUI, to which Sally Struthers plead not guilty and was released for a $160 bail.
Despite appearing all-smiles in her last year's talked about mugshot, she may not be delighted with what's about to come next month. The 66 year old's rep tells US Weekly, "Sally is working and she is fine," and continues to share, "We deny these charges."
The All in the Family actress who also starred as in Gilmore Girls was in town for a 9 to 5 production at the Ongoqui Playhouse when the incident happened back in September 12, 2012. If found guilty, she will face a maximum of $400 fine plus a 90-day license suspension only if she is convicted. For first time DUI criminals, there is no jail time imposed in jail.
Later being known for her advocacies on starving children, Sally Struthers was best known for role as Gloria Stivic in the 80's hit and had recurring roles as Babette in the hit show starred by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.
She is only one in among many celebrities who were and are faced with DUI charges. The likes of Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan, Dave Grohl and more recently, Resse Witherspoon have all gotten their mug shot fix.
In the US alone, DUI charges jumped to over 44% this year, with 1 out of 10 arrests relating to the criminal offense.
