John Cusack Plays Bipolar, Cold-Blooded Serial Killer and Rapist Role in The Frozen Ground

John Cusack plays a cold-blooded killer in his new thriller The Frozen Ground. The film, to be released on August 23rd, tells the story of real life serial killer Robert Hansen. The Iowa-born Hansen kidnapped, raped, and killed 17 to 21 women in Alaska in the 80s. Hansen who has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 1977 was convicted in the year 1983 and was sentenced to 461 years in Seward, Alaska's Spring Creek Correctional Center.

The Frozen Ground's chilling story has a star-studded cast. It has Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage playing the role of Alaska state trooper Jack Halcombe. Disney's Vanessa Hudgens is also a part of the film and plays the role of a young stripper Cindy Paulson. In the new movie clip of The Frozen Ground, Hudgens is shown chained by the neck while Cusack's Robert Hansen is listening to a ballad.

While Frozen Ground is based on a true story, the real name of the case's detective is Glenn Flothe and not Jack Halcombe but this can be easily dismissed by viewers because Cusack's resemblance with serial killer Hansen can bring a chill to one's bones. It is Cusack's most awaited performance yet because the actor is playing a role he has never played before.

With the trailer not getting enough attention the past few days, the producers decided to show the S/M footage of the film in hopes that the kinky clip will spark some interest. The first trailer of the movie came out June but enjoyed just over 600 views.

The American actor and producer appeared in Say Anything, Con Air, High Fidelity, Being John Malkovich among others. Now 47-years-old, the Illionois-born, Hollywood A-lister rose to fame when he appeared in teen movie Better Off Dead, Sixteen Candles, and One Crazy Summer. His roles broadened by the latter part of the 80s where he delved in serious-minded movies like True Colors and The Grifters.
