US Band Bloodhound Gang Desecrates Russian Flag, Russia Asking Who Paid For Stunt

After a video of American band Bloodhound Gang member Jared Hasselhoff desecrating the Russian flag surfaced on the web, the Russians started a probe on the band. In a sudden turn of events, the Russians now feel that the band was paid to disrespect their flag.

Kiev police opened a criminal case Monday upon seeing the band's bassist wipe his rear with the Russian flag. Due to the actions of the band, Russian relations with the U.S. is now more strained than before especially during a time when Moscow just granted asylum to whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Sergei Neverov claims that the band may have been paid to do the stunt and that a conspiracy is afoot. Moscow Times reports Deputy Neverov demanded that a probe be done on the case.

The Ukrainian police also opened a case against Bloodhound Gang due to another case of flag desecration -this time that of Ukraine's flag being urinated on by one of the band members just a day before the Russian incident. It was in Odessa where the band was performing live when the trouser-stuffing of the Russian tri-color flag occurred. Hasselhoff issued a public apology for both of the stunts.

While the band's frontman Jimmy Pop immediately criticized his bandmate's actions on stage during their Odessa performance, it wasn't enough to appease the Russians.

The band was due to perform in KUBANA, a film festival in Russia after their Ukrainian performances but their gig was canceled but Bloodhound Gang was still paid for its supposed performance. The band was sent straight to the airport after being informed of the cancellation of their gig. It did not end with them boarding a flight back to the United States though because members of the band were severely beaten by burly Russian men inside the VIP lounge of Moscow's international airport. The band is still in Russia, reports say.
