The OnePlus 3T, an upgrade to the OnePlus 3, is rumored to be launched on November 14. The latest edition of the OnePlus 3 will feature several upgrades.
According to PocketNow, the upgraded OnePlus 3 will sport a quad HD LCD and a Snapdragon 821 with 6GB of RAM and a storage space of either 64GB or 128GB. The OnePlus 3T's battery was also upgraded to 3,300 mAh, which is 10 percent better, and it will come with a black variant.
Techradar reports that if the rumors are true, OnePlus 3T's latest black color variant would put it in line with the current color trend of the year. Both Apple and Google opted for a darker finish for the iPhone 7 and the Pixel, respectively.
If the rumors are indeed true, the OnePlus 3T's features seem like an odd move for the Chinese smartphone maker. OnePlus has been known to keep its costs low by focusing only on a single smartphone line.
With the creation of the OnePlus 3T, there's a risk that owners of the OnePlus 3 would be angry by the upgrade. The expense that the Chinese smartphone maker shelled out in making the OnePlus 3T could also have been saved for the OnePlus 4, which is rumored to be released on 2017.
One probably reason for OnePlus' latest creation is the shortage of AMOLED screens in the market. Another reason is that the Chinese smartphone maker could be looking to switch to using LCD display instead to help it keep up with production.
The rumored upgrades, though, doesn't really put it any different from the OnePlus 3 as it only represents lateral moves or slight improvements. Nevertheless, this is all still rumor and we will soon find out if all this is true come November 14 in an event in London, where the launch will take place.
