Veterans Day is a special event in United States and also an official public holiday in their nation. The aforementioned special event observed annually on November 11 to honor the US military veterans and to give thanks for their service in the United States Armed Forces.
Earlier this month, the states in America celebrated Veteran's Day in advance to give honor to their veterans from World War II. According to the report, there were thousands of people and numerous veteran organizations joined the parade. In Fayetteville, North Carolina, it was reported that there were thousands of participants lined in the streets of Fayetteville on Saturday morning, November 5. As reportedly, the parade presented by Cumberland County Veterans Council and its city, Fayetteville.
According to the report, participants of the said parade had more than 100 individuals including active duty military, various veteran's organizations, ROTC and marching bands from high schools and universities. The said parade themed "Honoring Our Greatest Generation" whom CSM Kenneth "Rock" Merritt was the year's grand marshal.
On the other hand, in Detroit, Michigan it was reported that there were more than 120 different veteran organizations and three thousand participants joined the parade. On the said event, there featured some familiar personalities such Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers pitcher, gulf war veterans and FOX news weather expert, Rich Luterman. The said event also included the four star, four mile race. Senator Gary Peters served as the year's grand marshal.
As reportedly, there were live music and food trucks during the veteran festival in Detroit which was produced by Fifth Third Bank. Moreover, there were numerous participants joined the march including 27 veteran groups from Michigan, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corporation, five high school marching bands and a group of youth from 26 Detroit schools.
