With Greg Monroe producing lackluster stats for the Milwaukee Bucks, there is a talk of him getting traded before the season ends. And if the Toronto Raptors, who are rumored to be in talks for the big man, get someone like Monroe.
Things will definitely start to get interesting for the Eastern Conference. When Milwaukee acquired Greg Monroe via free agency, there seems to be talk that a new power would emerge from the East.
The big man was on his way up from impressive seasons in Detroit and figured to play quite nicely opposite young stars like Giannis Antetokuonmpo and Jabari Parker. Things are not panning out with the Bucks as Monroe is taking a step back from the two rising stars.
With his stats down from an already underwhelming last season, Milwaukee is looking to send the big man on his way according to Inquisitr. If the Raptors manage to land Monroe, they will certainly be a team who can give their rivals, the Cleveland Cavaliers, a good run for their money.
Greg Monroe is a proven quality center and can provide a deadly post presence. If he can play power forward alongside Jonas Valenciunas, then the Raptors could have one of the most formidable frontcourts in the league.
Another feasible target that the Raptors is rumored to be pursuing is center Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers. The center is almost certainly going to get unloaded from a hoard of big men the Sixers currently have. According to Tip Of The Tower, the trade would involve the Raptors giving up either Terrence Ross or Cory Joseph.
Certainly, an addition of another big body in the paint will help the Raptors make Lebron and his backcourt buddy Irving from driving hard in the paint. Will it be enough to topple the Cavaliers atop the East? Fans will have to wait in May to see.
