Dustin Hoffman is Feeling Great After Surgery! Why Was His Cancer Undisclosed?

Dustin Hoffman, six-time Golden Globe and two-time Oscar winner is successfully treated from cancer, with no previous reports of the 75-year old having such condition.

The actor was last seen in good shape while on the set of Jon Favreau's food truck flick, Chef in Los Angeles last month. He was even seen goofing around with his co-stars Scarlet Johansson and Bobby Canavale. Just yesterday, his publicist, Jodi Gottlieb says that the cancer was detected at an early stage and the Rain Man star is "feeling great and is in good health."

According to UK's Daily Mail, the rep says Dustin Hoffman will "undergo doctor-recommended preventative treatments to minimize the chance of a recurrence in years to come." No further details were discussed pertaining to what type of cancer Dustin had.

While he was just treated, it looks like the father of six and the grandfather of three is not slowing down. He just wrapped up Chef and is scheduled to begin filming with Dame Judi Dench in the upcoming movie, Esio Triot adapted from the book of Roald Dahl. Dustin Hoffman is also set to star in Boys Choir, which will be in production early next year.

Apart from Rain Man, the versatile and well-loved actor is also known for Kramer VS Kramer, The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, and Tootsie. He made his directorial debut last year, with his film Quartet.

While many are questioning as to what type of cancer does Dustin Hoffman have, others believe it's a wise decision to keep it under wraps considering the recent Michael Douglas report of him getting cancer from having oral sex.

Apart from Hoffman and Douglas, other well known celebrities have their stars shining brighter after beating out cancer. The likes of Lance Armstrong, Christina Applegate, Sharon Osbourne and also recently, Angeline Jolie.
