Jake follows the clues until he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Elba) who undertakes a mission to reach the "Dark Tower" and save "Mid-World". But Jake and Roland are faced with an onslaught of obstacles to reach the dark tower with monsters and coming face-to-face with a vicious sorcerer played by McConaughey.

"The Dark Tower" will be funded with a $60 million budget and Sony Picture Entertainment expects to promote the movie and create a buzz in the box office. Filming began on April 2016 in South Africa with some scenes filmed in New York.

Critics, however, are pointing out that the film could turn out to be another Western genre dud that would follow in the footsteps of the Lone Ranger a couple of years back that did not quite make it to the box office.
