'No Man's Sky' A Silent Death For Hello Games' Disappointing Space Exploration; Sony Disowns Title?

"No Man's Sky" was certainly marketed well by Sony and Hello Games, with multiple promotions from both parties, the space exploration game generated a lot of hype. Unfortunately, after fans waited in excitement for the game's release, it turned out to be a huge disappointment.

Strategy Analytics' Michael Goodman stated that "No Man's Sky" ended with heartbreaking results despite all the efforts to deliver the game Hello Games' promised.

"No Man's Sky" was all the rage during its opening weekend and they shattered all records and became an instant hit. Everything turned topsy turvy when the game was released and it was nothing like how it was marketed during pre-release. The awkward end game for Hello Games' promising title is quite a mystery. How it went from being a heavily-hyped game to being an epic disappointment. Michael Goodman shared with WeWriteThings what he believed was lacking from "No Man's Sky"

According to Goodman, "No Man's Sky" lacked direction and a proper cohesive plot. There was a lack of engaging boss fights. As per Goodman, the usual scenario should be players would battle minions and lower monsters before battling a strong boss, "No Man's Sky" has none of these. The lack of quests to keep the player going is also a reason many passed on purchasing the game. Quests that will earn the player merits, achievements or even a simple trophy as a collection was nowhere to be found.

Moreover, some players believe that the game was repetitive and boring. Each planet the player would visit would offer the same tasks to fulfill. Time-consuming space travel was also something that made players turn away from the game.

There are rumors that "No Man's Sky" was such an epic disaster that other space exploration games started to be affected, including Dual Universe. With that in mind, it seems that Sony is also distancing themselves from the title, not wanting it to have anything to do with the upcoming PlayStation VR.
