Veteran actor Meryl Streep of "Iron Lady" among other works is to join forces with fellow award winning actor Robert De Niro in Ann Leary movie adaptation "The Good House".
"The Good House" is a dark comedy where Streep plays the role of Hildy Good, a former alcoholic and real estate agent whose life becomes exciting as she makes friends with an old flame played by De Niro.
Author Michael Cunningham of "The Hours" will adapt the story, reports say marking "The Good House" as the third time the award winning actress will take on a role adapted by Cunningham.
De Niro and Streep last appeared together 20 years ago in a movie titled "Marvin's Room". "The Good House" is the fourth film where the two teamed up. They also worked together in 1978's war film "The Deer Hunter and "Falling in Love" in the mid-80s.
The 64-year-old Streep has a few Oscars under her belt while her 69-year-old co-star in Ann Leary's dark comedy is also another Hollywood titan.
The novel is described as "funny, poignant and terrifying that lays bare the secrets of one little town."
Meryl Streep rose to fame after her 1978 film with Robert De Niro "The Deer Hunter" followed by "Kramer vs. Kramer" a year later. Streep, deemed as one of the most decorated actresses in Hollywood has been nominated for an Academy Award 17 times, winning three. She also has 27 Golden Globe nominations under her belt and she won eight out of them. Streep's talent also gained the attention of the Emmy's, Cannes, among other respectable award-giving bodies.
New York-born De Niro on the other hand has four Golden Globe nominations for best actor for New York, New York, Midnight Run, Analyze This, and Meet the Parents.
