Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks, and Goran Dragic of the Miami Heat are no strangers from being the subject of trade rumors. In fact, only this season, Kevin Love, Carmelo Anthony, and Goran Dragic have been at the center of these rumors mostly due to those baskeball pundits clamoring for a Cleveland Cavaliers' version of "Super Team."
In this latest trade scenario however, Carmelo Anthony will be shipped to the Cavaliers, Kevin Love will take his talents to South Beach, and Miami's Goran Dragic and Josh Richardson will be sent to the New York Knicks. As per ESPN trade machine, the 4-player trade is entirely plausible.
Kevin Love, a part of the Cavaliers' "Big 3," have been frequently mentioned in various trade rumors after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2015-2016 NBA championship. Just a month ago, it was reported that Love will be involved in a four-player swap which will send him to the Miami Heat in exchange for Goran Dragic, Justise Winslow and Josh McRoberts.
All-star forward Carmelo Anthony, long-time friend of Cleveland Cavaliers' star LeBron James, has also been linked to trade rumors involving Kevin Love. It would however mean breaking up the Cavaliers's "Big 3" and forming a new one with Anthony, James, and Kyrie Irving.
Goran Dragic, a former all NBA third-team selection, is a combo-guard and widely considered a top-tier point guard in the league. If the New York Knicks acquire the lefty from Slovenia, he can easily slide to the shooting guard position to play alongside starting point guard Derrick Rose, and can also be primary ball-handler when Rose is not on the court. Interesting side note, Goran Dragic has already played for current New York Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek as a member of the Phoenix Suns.
Josh Richardson is a sophomore guard with a lot of upside. Richardson played exceptionally well during last year's playoffs and will be an asset of the bench for the Knicks.
If this trade pushes through, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have a new "Big 3" which can be the core of a new "Super Team." However the NBA will probably veto the trade since NBA commissioner Adam Silver "don't think having two Super Teams is good for the league."
